Buzzards - Year 4 and 5

Welcome to Buzzards Class!

 

Hello, my name is Mrs Noblett and I am Buzzard's class teacher from Monday to Thursday. Miss Thomas teaches on a Friday.

Our teaching assistant is Mrs Bowhay.

Mr Jones will be teaching P.E. every Wednesday morning.

 

This half term we will be exploring the following elements:

Science: Life cycles

Computing: Programming music

Geography: Australia

Art: Troika pottery

Music: The Blues

PHSE: Being me in my world

RE: Why do some people believe in God and some people not?

 

 

In English, we are writing a Cornish legend and  gaming poetry. 

In Maths, we are learning about  place value and addition and subtraction.

Homework expectations:
 
Reading - please listen to your child regularly (at least 3 times a week) and record reading in their yellow reading record. They need to have read a book within two weeks and quiz.
 
Spellings - spellings can be practised on spelling shed (log in details are in the yellow reading record) and there will be a weekly test on a Friday.
 
Times Table Rockstars - move up the rock stages by practising TTRS studio mode.
 
Below is a list of the Year 3/4 and 5/6 spellings that the children must know by the end of Year 4 and Year 6 to be able to achieve expected standard. A list has been sent home with your child to practise regularly as well as being added to the Spelling Shed app.
 
Homework books
A weekly spelling homework sheet will be sent home in your child's homework book. Feel free to use this book to practise any spellings or times tables.
