Cross Country at Great Trethew

The first Cross Country race of the season took place on Friday 11 October at the lovely setting of Great Trethew. The course is quite hilly and involved running through a farm yard, over a stream and has a pretty mean hill right at the end.  The first race was year 3/ 4 girls. Scarlett McCarthy came 48th, and Isla Oxenham 90th. Next was the year 3/ 4 boys -  Noah Kennedy was 30th, William Hicks 54th, Tristan Goode 113th and Toby Wilkinson 117th. Following that was the year 5 / 6 girls where Bryony Page came 59th, Molly Waters 80th, Bethany Swimburn 83rd, Polly Gilbert 111th, Stephanie Hepple 115th and Emily Goode 116th. Finally, was the year 5/6 boys race.  Dylan Hollyman came an amazing 4th, Finley Wilkinson finished 45th,  Ben Rogers 99th and Evan Oxenham 106th.

There were lots of wet and muddy children, parents and carers by the end of the afternoon, all smiling. Well done to all the runners, especially to the new runners racing for the first time. Each and every one of you were excellent!
