CCET Enterprise Day 26th March 2015

Bite Size Have a Go day at Sterts Theatre

Caradon Cooperative Education Trust schools took part in  Bite Size Have a Go day at Sterts Theatre with Cornwall Learning Education Business Partnership and local businesses.

On the 26th March 2015 Caradon Cooperative Education Trust and Cornwall Learning Education Business Partnership organised a Bite Size Have a Go day for pupils from Coads Green, Delaware, Gunnislake, Pensilva and Upton Cross Primary Schools to raise awareness of the range of skills needed for different jobs.

The pupils got to have a go at a range of activities so that they could learn about the variety of skills needed in the work place. Activities with local employers included learning about blood pressure with the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust, windsurfing with South West Lakes Trust, wok cooking and learning about nutrition with Chartwells, discovering an electric car with West End motors, finger printing with Devon and Cornwall Police and making beds with Premier Inn!

“The Bite Size Have a Go day looks at the relevance of the world of work and the different skills needed.  Key to the success of the day has been the excellent support from the local business community including Sterts Theatre who kindly provided the venue.” said Kate Whetter Education Projects Manager at Cornwall Education Business Partnership.
